TRM Team

LEVI ("Lay-vee") BEN-SHMUEL, associate producer and co-host of TRM. Levi's road to radio was unusual. After spending close to 20 years in the computer business (plus earning a master's degree in economic development from MIT during that time), he left his profession to create projects that fulfill his spiritual vision. While in business, Levi explored spiritual traditions from the East and West. A Tai Chi student since 1985, he taught Tai Chi and workshops on grounding in Israel and the U.S. In 1996, he started studying with his Kabbalah teacher Hadassah Ben-Yishai in Jerusalem.

Levi started writing devotional songs in 2000. He recorded his debut CD, Take a New Road, in Santa Fe in 2004. Levi's music was the bridge that introduced him to Alan and Elizabeth. A friendship developed that led to Levi becoming part of the TRM Dream Team in January of 2007.

The activist side of Levi was ignited with the revelation that the Bush administration was illegally wiretapping the American people. He wrote his first protest song called "How Many Lies" in 2006. The song became the core of a YouTube music video that can be seen here.

Levi's first book, Kabbalah and the Fire of the Divine Romance, will be available in 2008. Levi brings his passion for truth, humor, and optimism to TRM. He lives with his wife and son outside of Santa Fe. You can learn more about Levi and his work as a singer-songwriter, writer, and speaker at his web site www.nomad4all.com.

Bill GeorgevichBILL GEORGEVICH joined the TRANSITIONS RADIO MAGAZINE team in 2002 as Operations Director, on-air science editor, and occasional co-host and announcer. He now hosts and produces the weekly feature Evolution Minute and liaisons with our TRM webmaster Jim Craig. Bill is the YouTube video content provider and blogger for OprahEckhart.com and continues his lifelong career as science educator in astronomy and the war between big energy & renewable alternatives.

Georgevich has been gazing at the heavens since he received his first telescope at age seven. A recipient of a National Science Foundation grant, he studied under Clyde Tombaugh, the only living discoverer of a planet (Pluto). Trained as a physicist in the University of Texas system, Georgevich made a personal commitment to build his own observatory. During the twenty years it took to realize his dream, he branched out. As a radio syndicator, he promoted educational science programs like Stardate, which started at his alma mater, University of Texas.

As a young man in Dallas, Texas, Georgevich worked for the local PBS affiliate and introduced Monty Python to America. He hosted an all-night call-in talk radio show for Gordon McClendon’s fleet of FM radio stations in Dallas. Later, as an Assistant Engineer at Twin Oaks Studio, he was a recording engineer and sound man for the Rolling Stones, Ted Nugent, Barbra Streisand, Dolly Parton, Moody Blues, and Paul Simon, among others, when they did concerts and in the recording studio in Dallas.

Georgevich moved to Santa Fe in 1979 and worked as engineer and sweetener for Minnesota Public Radio, which broadcast the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival. Others clients included the NM Symphony Orchestra, the Santa Fe Desert Choral, and other classical groups in the Southwest. He founded THE AV COMPANY in 1982 to provide complete audio-visual technical support and equipment for events taking place in Santa Fe at the convention center and all 17 hotels.

Georgeovich moved to Arizona in 1992 to build his observatory in the Sonoran Desert on the Mexico-Arizona border and conduct astronomical research in transient cosmic phenomena. Windowpane Observatory, a privately owned facility, is dedicated to the discovery of comets, supernovae, and asteroids that might hit the earth. After launching a website for his own observatory, Bill continued to explore the world of the Internet, launching websites for a variety of clients in fields ranging from personal growth to pure science. He continued to do recording projects, from classical concerts to industrial videos, and returned to Santa Fe in 2002 to join forces with Alan Hutner and the TRM team.

" Finding your place in the universe and expanding one’s awareness beyond the confines of this planet gives us the cosmic perspective to cope with our daily problems here on Earth," says Georgevich.
